PERFORMING ON THE ZENTRAL STAGES 2026

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Zürcher Theater Spektakel 2026 presents a curated program of contemporary performing arts and street art on the Zentral stages at the Landiwiese. The Zentral are two outdoor stages. Applications for the Zentral stages are accepted until March 16, 2026. The number of artists and groups that can perform on the Zentral stages is limited. We kindly ask you to carefully read the performance conditions listed below.

Outside the curated program on the Zentral stages, performances by street artists are possible at designated outdoor performance locations (without technical equipment), provided they apply in advance for a 6-day block. Applications will be accepted from March 1 to April 16. 

Due to the high volume of applications for both the Zentral stages and the street art section, we regret that we cannot send rejection notices and will contact only successful applicants. We kindly ask you to refrain from repeated inquiries.

PERFORMING CONDITIONS

Performance Duration: Maximum 45 minutes
Setup and Teardown: Maximum 2 x 30 minutes (or on agreement)
Technical Equipment: The stages are equipped with basic technical facilities. A technician will be available.
Fee: Performance fee per show plus hat collection
Suitable Genres: Nouveau Cirque, Physical Theatre, Puppetry, Dance, Spoken Word, Performance, traditional street art and similar. Quiet concerts—including for children and families—are welcome as well.
Please note: We can only work with two microphones at a time. Shows with multiple speakers are technically not possible.
Application: Artists who wish to perform in the curated program on the Zentral stages must apply by March 16, 2026. Only electronically submitted applications with valid video links will be considered.
Performance Confirmations: The number of artists and groups that can perform on the Zentral stages is limited. Confirmations for performances will be sent by email no later than the Mid of May 2026.
Due to the high number of applications, we are unable to send rejection notices!
Accommodation: Artists will be provided with a space for their camper van or simple accommodation in the youth hostel for the night after a confirmed performance.
Travel Expenses: The Zürcher Theater Spektakel covers a flat-rate contribution toward travel expenses for performers on stage. The travel period includes the day of the first performance and departure on the day following a confirmed performance.  
Meals: Artists will receive meal vouchers for each performance day, redeemable on the festival grounds.
Artist support / Backstage: The point of contact during the festival is the info desk at the Zentral stages. Changing rooms, lockers and shower/toilet-facilities are available.
Promotion: The curated program will be published as part of the festival's communication both online and on-site.
Liability: The Zürcher Theater Spektakel assumes no liability for any harmful effects resulting from the performances of the artists. Discriminatory behavior and language will not be tolerated. Artists who do not adhere to the specified rules and code of conduct may be expelled and asked to leave.
