In this documentary theater piece, based on interviews, people share their experiences as those directly affected by the climate crisis. In collaboration with Doctors Without Borders Switzerland, the group Wort & Herzschlag is presenting an excerpt from «Klima-Monologe» at the Zentral.
Droughts, floods, storms: Two actors, accompanied by a cellist, bring to the stage the authentic stories of two people whose lives have been fundamentally changed by the climate crisis. One monologue takes us to Pakistan; the other to Bangladesh. The «Klima-Monologe» were created by director Michael Ruf, who has already garnered significant attention for his «Mittelmeer-Monologe».
The climate crisis is also a humanitarian crisis. Staff members of Doctors Without Borders witness firsthand around the world how extreme weather events are disrupting healthcare and disproportionately affecting those who have contributed the least to the climate crisis.
