Kinder Kultur Kalender
For children and families
Every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, children are invited to spend the afternoon creatively at the Zürcher Theater Spektakel. In the workshops of the «Kinder Kultur Kalenders» (KiKuKa), you can craft, paint, dance, or explore. All activities are hosted by workshop leaders from various partner institutions, with support from a KiKuKa supervisor. Just drop in at the top of the hour – no registration needed, totally spontaneous!

Zirkusquartier – Acrobatics

Step into the world of acrobatics and clowning! Children aged 4–12 can have fun trying out their first acrobatic tricks: cartwheels, forward rolls, handstands, headstands – and perhaps even build a few pyramids together.
There will also be plenty of fun exercises and games exploring the art of clowning: falling over, stumbling, being silly and much more.
Duration: 45–60 minutes
Age: 4–12 years

Ritterhaus Bubikon – Colourful Bands
Wed 19 Aug, 2.00–6.00 pm, next to Süd
In the Middle Ages, colours and symbols showed who or where someone belonged to. We’ll get creative too, making colourful bands as a symbol of friendship and togetherness.
Come along and make your own band – for yourself or for someone special!
Age: 5–12 years

Materials: Yarn and beads are provided.
Helmhaus – Diary
Sat 22 Aug, 2.00–6.00 pm, next to Süd
Do you experience lots of things every day? Together, we’ll create a diary, logbook or scrapbook for all your stories.
For the cover, we’ll take inspiration from works in the current exhibition, ‘Kunststipendien der Stadt Zürich’, at Helmhaus.

Acrobatics

From forward rolls to handstands and from bridges to pyramids, there’s lots to discover and try out. After a playful warm-up, we’ll learn how to stand not only on our feet but even on our hands – and enter a world where everything can sometimes be turned upside down.

Film
Wed 26 Aug, 2.00–6.00 pm, next to Süd
Armed with a camera and microphone, we’ll capture impressions of the Theatre Spectacle. We’ll conduct short interviews with exciting artists and edit the scenes together on the spot.
The result will be mini-films that can be watched shortly afterwards on Instagram and the KiKuKa website.

Tanzhaus – We Love Musical Statues!
Sat 29 Aug, 2.00–6.00 pm, next to Süd
We dance – and then we all freeze at the same time. Or did someone just move? Is someone else dancing a solo? Are those faces really frozen – or can we make them laugh?
We’ll play the popular game of musical statues in all sorts of different ways.
Duration: 30 minutes per session

Strauhof – Comics
Sun 30 Aug, 2.00–6.00 pm, next to Süd
Dancing bees? Tomatoes that give warnings? Together, we’ll draw wildly, quickly and loudly!
Different collaborative drawing games will turn us into a ‘drawing machine’ that can produce cool pictures on demand. Afterwards, anyone who wants to can invent and draw their own comic zine.
Duration: approx. 45–60 minutes
Age: 6–12 years

Materials: Everything is provided, but feel free to bring your favourite pens and pencils.
