A potted plant, a cup, a book, a chair, a lamp, a bottle - these were the few items that the once-high-paid traders removed from their offices on Wall Street, in 2008, at the height of their financial crisis had been fired. This paradoxical image has inspired the visual artist and choreographer Youness Atbane and the choreographer and sounds designer Youness Aboulakoul to create a choreographic duet in which they cleverly and with biting humor question the relationships between object, art and crisis. Refined and highly imaginative, they repeatedly undermine the expectable interplay of movement, objects and language, and capture the absurdity of the art market and its geopolitical characteristics in surprising, memorable sequences and images. The multidisciplinary artist Youness Atbane, who lives in Casablanca and Berlin, has been experimenting for a long time in the field between visual art and dance. His installations and performances are shown in galleries as well as on stage. Youness Aboulakoul, sounds designer and also performer who has collaborate with different choreographers including Radhouane El Meddeb, Bernardo Montet, Olivier Dubois and Christian Rizz.
