Delphine Lyner sets sail

Delpine Lyner, co-director of the Zürcher Theater Spektakel since 2013, has decided to leave the festival after the 2020 edition. She wants to take the opportunity to go travelling with her family before her son starts school. As the executive director and member of the programme group she has contributed to the quality and the charisma of the festival with great commitment. Additionally, Delphine has initiated and promoted a whole series of projects in order to increase the festival’s accessibility to as many people as possible. She has greatly contributed to the development of inclusive measures on all levels and to the Theater Spektakel becoming a model example of an inclusive event. The initiative «A Festival For Everyone» offering suspended tickets and drinks is equally a brainchild of hers. In her role as «minister of finances», she insured the festival’s development on financially secure grounds. With the support of partnerships and foundations and thanks to Delphine’s proactive planning and skilful raising of third-party funding, four big construction projects - Pavillon, entrance area, Zentral Stages and festival office - could be realised. She has also intensified the collaboration with the Patrons of the Festival and is responsible for important improvements in the departments of administration, organisation and ticketing.

Delphine will exercise her duties in full at this year’s festival and leave the Theater Spektakel at the end of October 2020. We thank her for the great commitment and continuing enthusiasm she has put into the festival and its development as executive director and member of the programme group and are looking forward to see through the upcoming festival with her one last time.
